Large volumes of coal mining spoil remain on decommissioned mine sites in Asturias. The material ties up land, cannot easily be removed and represents, for the owner, mainly one thing: an open position.
It is perfectly recoverable – but only if someone organises the entire route. That is usually what is missing.
Settled: The logistics chain is planned in full. Offtaker and logistics contractor are in place. ACRP bears the preparatory costs.
Not settled: The recoverable share per tonne of spoil. To date a single sample is available. It does not support a statement about the average across a heap; that requires systematic sampling of the entire material. The same applies to the final volume – our concept assumes at least 3 million tonnes of recoverable spoil.
Still to be agreed: Access to the heap for full sampling, the handling of non-recoverable material and the later use of the cleared land. These will be settled with those involved, not over their heads.
Extraction, documentation and assessment of the material on site.
The spoil is removed properly – without any new intervention in the landscape.
Removal by truck and rail, matched to the distance to the port.
Handling and interim storage using the existing infrastructure of the Port of Avilés.
Loading and shipment to the contractually secured offtaker.

ACRP bears the preparatory costs. No financial contribution is expected from you.
The offtaker is contractually secured. You do not need to find a market.
We organise transport, handling and shipping.
